Dear Reader,
Welcome to my writing portfolio!
While many things have come and gone over my last four years at the University of Michigan, writing has always been a constant source of comfort and challenge. I have grown and matured by being able to express myself and my identities more eloquently, and by analyzing the ways in which these experiences impact the world around me on both a personal and a structural level. And equally as important, I have challenged myself to create change by putting my writing into action -- working to dismantle stereotypes and address places where education is needed, so that our society can grow to be better equipped to talk about social justice.
My development as a writer and as a social justice advocate is intrinsically linked -- I have discovered that without one I cannot fully explain the other. It's my hope that the writing I've chosen to share in this portfolio speaks to this growth, and that by reading through it you will be able to see my passion for learning about myself and about others.
My personal philosophy: "Every voice deserves to be heard." And by sharing my growth, I hope that this is my contribution to this movement towards understanding each other as we work to make our Earth a more loving and inclusive place.
